About Adele

Growing up on the Gold Coast, Adele’s interest in acting, singing, dancing and dress-ups manifested itself at an early age. While her sister learned to surf and developed a rockin’ tan, teenage Adele spent her summers inside the dark theatre at the Gold Coast Arts Centre. It was here that she cut her teeth, starringing in musicals such as Grease, Footloose, Annie and Guys and Dolls as part of Robert Young’s Summer School. Her fate was sealed when she landed her first professional role in the original Motown show Dancin’ in the Street.

After school, Adele moved to Perth to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Highlights from her time at WAAPA include playing Cassie in A Chorus Line and originating the role of Hillary in James Millar and Peter Rutherford’s A Little Touch of Chaos.

Whilst in her final year at WAAPA, Adele submitted an audition tape for Legally Blonde: The Musical (Gordon Frost Organisation). She was invited to Melbourne to attend what was her first professional audition but missed out on a role. UNTIL, mere months before the show was due to commence rehearsals, the position of female swing became available and Adele was cast in the Australian tour. She understudied and performed seven roles in show including the principal character Elle Woods.

Adele has toured to Manila, Singapore, London and Dubai in the cast of Les Misérables (Cameron Macintosh International) as Factory Girl and Fantine understudy, and appeared as Marion in the 10th Anniversary Australian production of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (Michael Cassel Group). Other theatrical credits include Miranda Ashton in Brigadoon (TPC); T-Rex 2 in Triassic Parq (Squabbalogic); various roles in LOVEBiTES (Hayes Theatre Co.); Sue Snell in Carrie (Squabbalogic). Adele’s cabaret credits include Richard Carrol’s Chiquitita and Fernando as Chiquitita and as Sharon Carpenter in Darren Mapes and Linda Nagle’s The Carpenters From Kempsey.

Adele loves working with children. On screen she can be seen presenting Splashdance on ABC Kids. On stage she appeared as Maisie in the Australian tour of Horrible Histories: Awful Egyptians (AKA) and as Sapphire/Mrs Trafe/Ms Spite in Billionaire Boy: Live On Stage (CDP) based on the book by David Walliams. Adele can currently be seen around Western Australia as the face of Kleenheat. She has performed with The Diamonds (SMA) at corporate events and as a guest entertainer on cruise liners throughout the Asia-Pacific.

Adele also works as a voice over artist and with various production companies in the development of new work. When available, Adele can be found singing with the John Field Band and Leon Fallon Experience in Sydney where she is based. She has furthered her vocal studies at the Neil Semer Vocal Institute in Aub, Germany and trained in theatre and clown under Philippe Gaulier at L’Ecole Gaulier in Etampes, France. In 2015 Adele was a Rob Guest Endowment Award semi-finalist.
